Overview
The notification system provides:- Real-time status updates for all background processes
- Visual indicators showing process completion, errors, or ongoing work
- Detailed progress information including duration, item counts, and error details
- Quick access to results like downloadable exports
- Persistent notification history so you never miss important updates
How to view process notifications
Access the notification panel
Click the notification bell icon in the top navigation bar. The icon shows a badge with the number of unread notifications.
Review your notifications
The notification panel displays your recent processes, with the most recent at the top. Each notification shows:
- Process type (Export, Training, Inference, etc.)
- Current status with visual indicators
- Timestamp and duration information
- Any error details if the process failed
Take action on completed processes
For completed exports, click the download button to access your files. Other processes may show relevant action buttons based on their type and status.

Track data exports from your projects, including:- Dataset exports in various formats (COCO, YOLO, etc.)
- Annotation exports with labels and metadata
- Model prediction exports from inference runs
Model operations
Monitor machine learning workflows:- Training jobs with epoch progress and model metrics
- Inference runs showing processing status and device information
- Model evaluation results and performance data
Data processing
Stay updated on data operations:- Dataset creation from external sources
- Video re-encoding for compatibility
- Data validation and quality checks
Status indicators
Process notifications use clear visual indicators:- Green checkmark: Process completed successfully
- Red X: Process was unsuccessful with an error
- Spinning indicator: Process is currently running
- Progress information: Shows completion percentage or current step

Automatic updates
Notifications refresh automatically while the panel is open, so you see real-time progress without manual refreshing.Notification history

- Download exports from previous sessions

Troubleshooting
Notifications not updating
If you do not see expected updates:- Refresh the notification panel by closing and reopening it
- Check your internet connection for real-time updates
- Contact support if processes appear stuck
Download issues
If export downloads are unsuccessful:- Ensure your browser allows downloads from Encord
- Check that the export process completed successfully
- Try the download again after a few moments
Missing notifications
If you cannot find expected notifications:- Scroll down to load older notifications
- Check that the process started successfully
- Verify you have the necessary permissions for the operation
Notification history is preserved across browser sessions, so you can always return to check on previous operations and download results.
